The Jeep Wrangler 4xe comes with a 2.0L turbo plug-in hybrid electric vehicle engine (or PHEV) and a 17 kWh lithium-ion battery pack to maximize its potential. This setup gives it the ability to venture away from home with a zero-emission, all-electric range of up to 34 km, and a total range of up to 595 km.

Not only can you venture far and wide in this Jeep, but it still can handle all types of terrain. The engine delivers 375 hp and up to 470 lb-ft of torque. Like any Jeep, the engine provides impressive power to each wheel allowing you to drive across a wide array of uneven and inconsistent surfaces.

The battery is waterproof, so you won’t have to worry about crossing streams or waterbeds when you are off-roading. Also, you can choose what type of driving mode you would like to travel with by using the E-select driving modes (Hybrid, Electric, or eSave). This enables you to optimize performance and utilize the totality of the hybrid driving range.

Charge on-the-go

Another key feature on the Jeep Wrangler 4xe is that it has regenerative braking, this means that the battery is in fact being charged when the vehicle is decelerating and braking. It allows the Jeep Wrangler 4xe to generate more electricity for the battery even when you are moving and cannot charge.

When you do get a chance to park for the night and decide to plug it in, the battery can be fully charged within approximately 2 hours using a Level II charge (240V). The interior is just as high-tech as the engine. It comes with a Uconnect 4C NAV with 8.4-Inch Touchscreen and a nine-speaker Alpine Premium Audio system.

When going on all cylinders (so-to-speak) you can monitor the operation of the hybrid engine through the Uconnect console. The detailed breakdown of your engine’s performance and your electrical output is displayed onto the console and outlines the impact of regenerative braking and compares your electric and gasoline usage. It will even tell you when the best time to schedule a charge is based on changing electric rates.

It comes with advanced parking assistance in the form of a ParkView Rear Backup Camera and Park-Sense Rear Park Assist System.

Sensor-Activated Alerts include forward collision warning, which means that if sensors and cameras detect that you are approaching a vehicle too quickly, the system will provide sound and visual warnings. If you can’t react in time, it will automatically apply the brakes to slow or stop the vehicle.
